The Australian police force has just received a brand new Volvo S60 Polestar, following last year"s S60 T5 gift.

It"s a good day to be a police officer in the Land Down Under as Volvo Car Australia has handed over an S60 Polestar to NSW Police"s Rose Bay Local Area Command. It won"t be used as a first response vehicle because instead it will serve as a support vehicle mostly within the community liaison division.

It should do the job quite fine with its 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged engine outputting 350 PS (257 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) delivered to both axles via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Polestar-tuned Volvo S60 sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.9 seconds and will reach an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

This is a nice gift coming from Volvo taking into account the car has a starting price in Australia of 109,950 AUD. In addition, the S60 Polestar is an exclusive model since it"s only sold in the land of kangaroos, although it could reach other markets in the near future.
